The Economy of Russia and Other Post-Soviet Countries

This volume offers analyses of the basic tendencies and the problems of Russia, Eastern Europe, Transcaucasia, Central Asia, and the Baltic states. It covers the Russian economic model; the rates and proportions of the Russian economy; its real, financial, external, and social sectors; investment and fixed assets; human capital; and economic policy. East European, Transcaucasian, Central Asian and Baltic economies are then analysed using the same perspectives. Alexander S. Bulatov is doctor habilitatus in Economics and Professor at the International Relations Faculty of the MGIMO-University in Moscow. He is the author and co-author of various books and articles on the world economy and international economic relations, specialising in the international capital flow.

Yury D. Kvashnin holds a PhD in History, and is Associate Professor at the MGIMO-University in Moscow. He is the co-author of numerous books and articles on the economic development of Southeast Europe and mutual investments in CIS and Eurasian countries.

Nina M. Mamedova holds a PhD in Economics, and is Associate Professor at the MGIMO-University in Moscow. She is the author and co-author of various books and articles on the socio-economic development of the Middle East, the countries of Transcaucasia and Central Asia, and the Islamic economy.

Sergei V. Zhdanov holds a PhD in Economics, and is Associate Professor at the MGIMO-University in Moscow. He is the author and co-author of various books and articles on the economy of the Baltic States and the economy of Arab countries.

Marina A. Petrova has a PhD in Economics, and is Associate Professor and Head of the Endowment Foundation at the MGIMO-University in Moscow. She is the author and co-author of various books and articles on international economic relations, trade policy, and fundraising.
