Dr Heon Kim is an Assistant Professor of Philosophy and Religious Studies at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania. He has had a strong cross-cultural career in Islamic studies and comparative religions in Korea, Egypt, Turkey and the USA, in which he received his doctorate on Sufism, with a thesis distinction award. Dr Kim authored Din Değiştirmenin Entellectual Arka Planı (Intellectual Background of Religious Conversion), and recently edited a volume, Making Peace In and With the World. He has coordinated several national conferences, including A Just World: Multi-disciplinary Approach. With a series of conference coordination, presentations and publication, his research focuses on Sufism, comparative religions, and ‘religion, peace and justice’.
