Agility in Sport

This book introduces a new view of agility theory, given recent serious discussion concerning the methods of open-loop skills improvement. It offers experimental research results and theoretical knowledge on both reactive and running types of agility. The book also details a number of agility training methods and exercises.


Jaromír Šimonek is a Professor in the Department of Physical Education and Sports at the Faculty of Education of the University of Constantine the Philosopher, Slovakia. He deals with the didactics of school physical education and sports, and gives lectures on anthropometrics. He has published several articles on the evaluation and development of motor abilities.

Pavol Horička is a Lecturer at the Department of Physical Education and Sports at the Faculty of Education of the University of Constantine the Philosopher, Slovakia. He deals with didactics of basketball and football, and biomechanics of physical exercises. He currently works as an elite basketball team coach.
